This is the first carbon footprint report produced by News First. As an SME with primarily seamless online operations and minimal physical infrastructure, our emissions are very kept to an absolute minimum.

Emissions Reduction Targets
To contribute toward the Net Zero target, we have set the following reduction goal:
We project that carbon emissions will decrease to 1.0 tCO2e by 2030, a 50% reduction from our 2024 baseline.

Carbon Reduction Projects
Completed Initiatives:
- Transition to a cloud-based digital infrastructure using providers with strong renewable energy commitments (e.g. Google Cloud).
- Default remote-work policy reducing travel emissions.
- Use of a serviced offices with green building credentials.
- No production equipment.

Planned/Future Initiatives:
- Encourage greener commuting methods (e.g., cycle-to-work schemes).
- Ensure all digital service providers have robust sustainability credentials.
- Offset residual emissions annually using certified carbon offset projects.

Declaration and Sign Off
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 06/21 and associated guidance. Emissions are reported following GHG Protocol standards, and SECR requirements where applicable.
